The service writer was high quality and worked with us to provide updates and finished when expected, etc. However, my son's car is in SoCal and I am in NoCal, and my son is not mechanically inclined, so I had to work over the phone to determine appropriate repairs. In hindsight, I do not think the technician well diagnosed the initial reason that we brought the car in for repair, so after repairs were made to the car, they informed me that we still had a grinding noise. I do not believe that either the tech nor the service writer had any malicious intent, but I do believe that we likely made some repairs that were less urgent than the reason my son brought the car in to begin with... Looking back, Since I never heard the noise, I should have had my son go in and listen to the noise that the shop diagnosed to verify that's what he had heard. Ultimately, Camarillo Car Care is a reputable shop and as a parent, I was too "hands on" and should have put my son into the conversation instead of 100% taking over the communication process... You live and learn, even at 54 years old. Dan and team, thank you for your help and professional behavior... All didn't turn out perfect, but you guys did what you thought was right given the "intermmitant grinding noise" complaint from my son.
